Who This Site Is For
Most of our readers are not professional gardeners. They have a space they want to improve, limited weekends, and a reasonable budget. So we write for the beginner and the improver rather than the specialist, and we say when a job is genuinely beyond a weekend or genuinely worth paying someone to do.
We also assume you will not remember everything. Guides are structured so you can skim to the section you need, and the sequence of steps is stated explicitly, because in gardening the order usually matters more than the calendar date.
Who Writes This Site
Osama Ahmad is the founder and editor of Landscape Garden Idea.
He started the site after years of working on his own garden, a compacted, badly drained plot that taught him most of what he now writes about, usually by going wrong first. Killing three lavenders in the same waterlogged corner turned out to be a more effective lesson in drainage than anything he had read about it.
He writes most of the lawn care, soil and hardscaping guides here, and has a particular interest in low-maintenance planting and in projects an ordinary person can finish over a weekend without specialist tools.
His working rule for the site is simple: if a guide does not tell you what order to do things in, it is not finished. In gardening, sequence matters more than the calendar.

How We Create Our Content
Every guide starts with hands-on gardening experience and is checked against horticultural extension resources and published growing data before it goes live. Where reputable sources disagree, we say so rather than silently picking one.
We revise articles when growing recommendations change, when a variety or product is discontinued, or when a reader points out a mistake. Every article carries its last-updated date so you can judge how current the advice is.

Local Conditions Always Win
Gardening advice is regional by nature. Frost dates, soil type, rainfall, grass species and hardiness zones change what is correct, sometimes completely. We flag this wherever it matters and point to the zone or soil test that decides the answer for your specific site.
Two cautions we repeat often, because they matter more than aesthetics: many common garden and house plants are toxic to children and pets, and some attractive plants are invasive or restricted in certain regions. Check locally before planting, and consult your veterinarian or poison control service on any toxicity question rather than relying on a web page.
